The first priority of the Jaquelyn Sky Foundation is providing funding for expenses of families whose children are fighting cancer, such as housing near the treatment center. We are also committed to supporting the financial and emotional needs of fighter families directly impacted by this monster. Jaquelyn wanted to be involved in promoting childhood cancer awareness. She had a heart for the children fighting her same fight and always prayed for a cure for childhood cancer. This foundation was created in loving memory of Jaquelyn Sky Jenkins, in her honor and to carry on her legacy.
The Jackie’s Housing Program began in 2014 and offers free temporary housing to pediatric cancer families during the most critical phases of treatment. In January of 2016, we were excited to announce JSF’s first apartment, “Jackie’s House”, available to pediatric cancer families. It is located one mile from the Houston Medical Center. It is a 1 bedroom/1 bath-900 sq ft apartment located on the first floor with garage parking and is furnished with a washer and dryer, king/queen-size bed, sofa with queen sleeper, Internet, and WiFi.
To view the apartment complex that Jackie’s House is part of, please go to www.villasathermannpark.com.
Fighter families need to provide their own personal hygiene products, toiletries, and food. Sometimes some of these items may be available for your use, but not always. Feel free to bring other items to make your stay more comfortable: air mattress, personal pillow/blanket, tablet, etc. There are dishes, towels, cookware, sheets, blankets, pillows & some toys available in the apartment. Cleaning supplies are usually available, but you may need to replenish.
Below are links to the forms required to apply for occupancy of Jackie’s House. If you are in need of temporary housing near the Houston Medical Center in Houston, TX, please download and submit each completed form per the instructions on the form.
The Jaquelyn Sky Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) and accepts housing as a donation.
